Testing Process
  • Register for a Test - State Civil Service administers the Protective Services Exam on a continuous basis. Register online.
  • Take a Test - Arrive early, bring a picture ID and social security card, and phones must be turned off
  • Get Test Results - Notification of your test score is sent via the email address associated with your LA careers account typically within 7 days.
  • Search Jobs and Apply - Your test score will be automatically transmitted to the hiring agency after you apply. It is best to have your test score before applying for a job vacancy.
